Nissan Exterior Mirrors FAQs
What Types of Nissan Exterior Mirrors Are There?
There are two standard mirrors: one on the driver's side of your vehicle, and one on the passenger's side. However, your Titan XD pickup may be equipped with larger mirrors known as towing mirrors.
What Is The Difference Between Nissan Exterior Mirrors?
The driver's side mirror features a flat surface that offers an accurate view of what's to the rear left. The passenger's side mirror, on the other hand, is convex. That shape presents the driver with a broader reflection of the rear right -- while minimizing more blind spots; however, it also distorts the driver's sense of distance. That's why that mirror likely has a warning note that objects shown may be closer than they seem. Towing mirrors are larger in order to incorporate any trailer you may be hauling as well, since you need that extra bit of distance when changing lanes.
Do Nissan Exterior Mirrors Have Any Special Features?
Some models, particularly newer ones, boast mirrors that incorporate heating elements, turn signals, and safety alert lights for advanced features like blind-spot and lane-departure warnings. While these are nice, they do add to the cost of a mirror replacement due to the wiring, sensors, and other electronic elements involved.
